Covering 6.7Km² of land, Al Maktoom International Airport, the heart of DWC, along with the Aviation District are specially designed to meet the increasing demands and capacity need of aviation businesses. Al Maktoom International Airport is designed to handle 160 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo annually. The Aviation District is a dedicated aviation industry cluster, caters to MROs, FBOs, light industries, educational institutions and R&D facilities.
