Dubai free zones council launched the demand side management plan 2033
Energy demand
The Council discussed the outcomes of the “Energy Demand Management Strategy” plan, which aims to reduce and improve demand for electricity and energy and achieve sustainability, thus contributing to achieving the leadership’s vision of consolidating Dubai’s leadership and building innovative, environmentally friendly communities.
The Council's strategy is a "road map" and a proactive initiative to contribute to NET ZERO initiatives within the strategic initiative for climate neutrality 2050, in conjunction with the country's hosting of "COP 28" and the "Year of Sustainability."
The strategy aims to save 30% in energy and water consumption by 2030 for free zones and companies, and to contribute to providing added value to businesses. The strategy's outcomes also reviewed mechanisms for introducing innovation technologies and processes, raising awareness about reducing energy demand and sustainability, providing resources, tools and programmes, developing policies and reducing the carbon footprint in free zones, in cooperation with relevant government agencies.
